About Us

Founded in 1959, the Shomrim Society of Illinois is a fraternal organization of Jewish First Responders from Chicago and surrounding areas. We are a member of the National Conference of Shomrim Societies. 

Our organization promotes religious spirit as well as fraternal relations, friendship, understanding and cooperation among members. Our sister organization, the Shomrim Society of Illinois Endowment Fund, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation provides educational grants to children and grandchildren of first responders.
