Our 62nd annual, "Community Heroes" award reception was held on November 9, 2023 at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Skokie, Illinois Over 250 of our members, supporters, and guests enjoyed great food, entertainment, and the opportunity to thank those who have contributed to the welfare of our community, and our organization.
We truly grateful to have been able to honor JCC-Chicago, represented by their President and CEO, Addie Goodman, Past Shomrim President Steve Marchfield, Assistant Cook County State's Attorney and member David Williams, World War Two veteran Arthur Shapiro, and our "First Responder of the Year" ... our 1st Vice-President (Sgt.) Justin Homer of the Chicago Police Department.
We wish to thank all of you who attended or otherwise supported this event. All proceeds from our reception will benefit the Shomrim Society of Illinois Endowment Fund and it's scholarship program, as well as JCC-Chicago which has graciously decided to use their portion of the proceeds to support Israel during this turbulent time.
